Teaser Tuesday - Thousand Splendid Suns

This is my first Teaser Tuesday, so please take it easy on me.
Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

The book is actually a reread for me. I am writing a term paper focusing on the books portrayal of Afgani life during and after the colonization of Afghanistan by Russia.

With that a side, this book is awesome! I could not recommend it enough. Let's see what I come up with as I open it to a random page and find a snipet for you!

pg. 182
"Like an art lover running out of a burning museum, she would grab whatever she could - a look, a whisper, a moan - to salvage from perishing, to preserve. But time is the most unforgiving of fires, and she couldn't, in the end, save it all."

All I have to say is that I devoured this book. I hope you enjoy it as well!

If you have a Teaser Tuesday or if you updated your blog today, leave me a link to check it out!

Happy Reading!

Wow! That makes me wonder what the teaser is referring to exactly...though I have a couple of guesses! Great choice!

You can check out my teaser here, if you like.

I absolutely loved The Kite Runner and am so excited to read this one. I have a feeling that any place you opened in the book would be a good teaser.
